Chad Harrison International is working with a worldwide leading manufacturer of industrial minerals, services and solutions. The company is seeking a Technical Sales Manager for India who has extensive experience of working in a steel melt shop and technical sales experience.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead, manage and grow the existing customer base and develop prospective customers to meet goals agreed with the Senior Sales Manager.
  • Manage customer pricing to reach defined pricing goals.
  • Manage & nurture long-term business relationships as required to meet business goals.
  • Contribute towards business development activities in India.
  • Develop a good understanding of application technology expertise to be able to promote “Value In Use” concept with the customers for  products and services within the territory customer and prospect base.
  • Participate fully in all assigned marketing Cross Functional Teams, and contribute actively to the development and execution of the industry sector market plans for the region.
  • Build and maintain a comprehensive customer and prospect, measured in terms of value & volume, database for the assigned territory and market segments of operation, fully utilizing digital / online management tools and resources available.
  • Highlight all customer support requirements and ensure relevant resources are brought into play to resolve issues.
  • Responsible for initiating, developing new product applications like FGD (Flue-gas desulfurization) & Soil Stabilization.
  • Maintain active memberships and participation in relevant industry associations and technical support groups.
  • Reporting Market Intelligence through understanding, collating and keeping an update on competitor strengths, weaknesses and activities.
  • Follows and manages receivables and overdue towards achieving Working Capital result of the company.
  • Follow and manage credit limits in accordance with the finance department.
  • Responsible for budgeting, forecasting and reporting procedures in coordination with Senior Sales Manager.
  • Understand, communicate and enforce company safety and environmental standards and policies.
  • Highlight all customer support requirements and ensure relevant resources are brought into play to resolve issues.
  • Maintain a minimum active prospect list as agreed with sales manager, and measured by potential business volume and numbers of active prospect accounts.
  • Maintain active memberships and participation in relevant industry associations and technical support groups.
  • Understand and report competitor strengths, weaknesses and activities.
  • Analyzes customer request.
  • Closely collaborate with production, laboratory, marketing experts and R&D to develop new products/application.
  • Participates to laboratory and pilot tests.
  • Organize & Facilitate Promotional Activities – Participation in Exhibitions, seminars, training, public presentations, presenting research papers.
  • Track Relevant Publications – Special magazines articles, papers presented in conferences.
  • Create promotional media-promotional leaflets, brochures, multimedia.

You will have:

  • University degree (engineering or science disciplines preferred)
  • Minimum 7-year background in steel melting and 3-4 years sales and marketing in industrial/ B2B domain, Project Sales.
  • Sound understanding of the importance of the role of flux in steelmaking and other raw materials in general.
  • English knowledge (written and spoken) and native country language.
