Chad Harrison International

A major industrial minerals company are searching for a Mining Engineer to join their team in France. This role is involved at all stages of a project within the corporate team and ensures the safe and efficient development of quarries / mines and other surface and underground operations.

Responsibilities include:

  • Being a safety champion
  • Participate in the development of long and short term planning strategies for the operations and for development projects
  • Provide engineering expertise and technical advice in various stages of development
  • Assist with the development and implementation of the engineering policies and procedures
  • Provide technical expertise to support the assumptions in the mining reserve updates
  • Assessing the commercial viability of new mining ventures
  • Undertaking feasibility studies
  • Modelling / designing potential mine sites
  • Preparing plans for mines
  • Working with specialist software to support planning programmes
  • Overseeing major construction projects and ensuring that operations run smoothly
  • Ensuring the safety of mining equipment and assessing mine equipment supplies
  • Establishing extraction systems

You will have:

  • Mining Engineering degree or equivalent
  • Min 10 years’ relevant experience
  • Exposure to quarries and open pit mining ideally
  • Software: Planning/optimisation – e.g. Whittle, NPVS, MineSched/Deswick
  • Software: Block modelling and slope stability – e.g. Map3D, FLAC / Slide
  • Understanding of industrial minerals or similar
  • Ability to travel as required (up to 40% required for this role)
